More Ford

This shot for Ford and Minor Hockey was actually a miniature set. The cars were 1:18 scale replicas (except for the Ford Edge, which was shot at the dealership). The 4x8 set took two days to complete and was shot in one. A day of post to ad the basic effects and off to the printer. Shot for Y&R again with the wonderfully talented Michael McKay at the art direction helm.

Have you driven a Ford Lately?

Y&R in Calgary chose Grant Waddell Photography to shoot that latest Ford newspaper campaign. A series of four shots that encompassed shooting the trucks and backgrounds, as well as several other bits and pieces to make the shots work.
All imaging was done in house at GWP.

Enmax

Recently, I was lucky enough to be chosen by Moca Creative to shoot a series of shots for Enmax Corporation here in Calgary.
We had to produce a library of shots using a made up family and a very clean white, sparsely propped set. Destined for the web site and vehicle graphics.

Interesting Summer

My summer, or more accurately, my August was a bit of a write off as I contracted West Nile Neurological Syndrome. Nasty little virus. So my updates, which were not up to date before getting it, became even less important after. So, here it is, a new day in September and I'm going to start to get caught up with things that I've been up to...

ABCRC

A sample of what you will be seeing around Calgary. This is one of six shots done for Wonder Communications. I got to work with a great new AD at Wonder by the name of Micheal McKay. He's pretty new to the business but handled himself like he'd been around for years.

We spent two days shooting this campaign and had to deal with Calgary's notoriously unpredictable weather. Snow, rain and wind were a few things Mother Nature threw our way but, we managed to squeak it in by the deadline.

Wabasca Landscape

Just off the side of a lease road. This is beautiful country and apparently the fishing is great on one of the many lakes.

RFX and Bronco Energy

Just spent a few days in wonderful Wabasca AB. ABout a 7.5 hour drive north of Calgary. I was asked to shoot the annual report for Bronco Energy. It was a great trip, and I think we got some great images. This is one of the rig workers.

Old Tree

Here's an old tree that I shot near Lethbridge AB. I am experimenting with different techniques with de-saturation and enhanced contrast.

Man thats a tight space to shoot in.

Have you ever been inside a Lear Jet. They are so small. Barely enough room to set up a meeting let a lone a tripod.

Downtown Calgary Dining Week

The good folks over at Tag Advertising have enlisted the services of GWP to shoot and image some fun concepts for Downtown Calgary Dining Week. There are three concepts in total and we have put the finishing touches on the first one, and fired it off to Avenue Magazine for their February issue.
You'll have to wait till then to see it but once it's in circulation I'll be posting a pics of the three shots here.

Cindy Klassen Part.2

Well next Monday I'll be shooting the wonderful Cindy Klassen again. Speedskating medalist in the 2004 winter games.
Cossette Communication in Vancouver needs some more shots while they shoot a TV commercial for MTS.

I hope they bring the buffalo again.

Movie Night

We had a CAPIC movie night at the studio this past week and it was great. About 25 of Calgary's photo faithful showed up and shared a beverage and a bag of popcorn and watched a flick about the amazing Alfred Stieglitz.

Next one in February. All are welcome.

Three D

Just had the pleasure of doing a project for a medical imaging company here in town. I was tasked with creating 5 technical animations for the trade show circuit. Lightwave was the weapon of choice and oddly enough, a $25 piece of shareware beat to hell the $500 option for converting Solidworks files to lightwave object files. WOW! Maybe I'll post some pics later on.
